Filamentcolors.xyz is a digital catalog of filament from around the globe, curated with the purpose of helping people find the perfect colors for their project. We print and photograph every filament under the same conditions, allowing users to compare different colors directly. We also measure the color and report this as a hex color, and use that to calculate complementary colors, similar filaments, and even similar colors in other materials to help users perfectly plan their projects. We’re a hobby project and always growing through filament donations and partnerships, so keep checking back to find your favorite filaments!

    Filament Samples

    All filament samples are at least 20 meters in length (actually more, I increased the length to eat up the extra filament being left behind on the rolls)

    13 Piece Knife Set

    I'm always using razor blades for various things in 3D printing/prints. The wide flat one I even use to pry up purge lines or little sticky bits left behind on prints. I thought this was a nice set.

    Customizable Music Box

    This is both a simple and complicated project. Simple as it doesn't need much as far as equipment, complicated if you customize the song...

    I picked music box devices that have my favorite classical song... Fur Elise... but if you'd like to customize the song and create your own drum, this video provides instructions... there is a link in the description of the video to a github for the code to generate the STL from a song.

    1. The Piano print is great but the Top hole for the customizable music box is 1mm off so you can only secure the box with 2 screws. The Bottom hole and one on the edge of the back plate line up great.

        1. Yeah i got the one from Prinatables. I was happy to see it had the FreeCAD files so i’ve made the adjustment to the back plate and will try printing it again this weekend.

      2. While I had the same issue, I used the “hand drill” we got in one of our boxes and drilled it out. It was tight but was able to get the 3rd screw in that way.
