Thank You to this month’s sponsors, contributors, and companies who didn’t try to shoot our UFO’s out of the sky for using their product in this month’s box.

3D Fuel

Happy Easter! - Well, at least it’s still April?
While most of us our stuck at home, I hope everyone is staying safe. This month’s project should help those who may not have the greenest of thumbs, but as they say... April showers bring May flowers!

As for the accessory, I found these to be pretty cool for showing off prints, so I hope you all have a use for it!

Knocking on wood, this month should be the last “late” box, May will be a “little” late, but not nearly as bad as this and last month. But May, June and July projects and accessories are all on-hand already. Just need to get filaments for them. I’ve also been ordering boxes ahead of time. Slowly getting ahead again...

I want to thank you all again for being patient with me while I work out these kinks in the system. I know I’ve said this before lol, but the months ahead should get smoother now.

As always, let me know if you have any feedback. You can always reach me at [email protected]
Thank you • Josh ~Alien3D

Filament Samples

All filament samples are at least 20 meters in length (actually more, I increased the length to eat up the extra filament being left behind on the rolls)

3D Fuel

Random Imperfect - PLA

Extrusion Temp 185C to 215C
Bed Temp 0-60C
Print Speed: 40-100mm/s

3D Fuel started selling their "Imperfect" or "Out of Spec" filament on their site. Basically it's filament that would either be 0.3 tolerance versus their 0.2 standards, or are part of transitions between 2 colors, or were partial rolls. I've been printing with it and it's been printing great! So keep an eye on their site if you're looking for some great quality yet cheap filament options!

COEX

Bay Green or Neon Green - PLA

Extrusion Temp 215C to 235C
Bed Temp 60C

COEX has been discounting their filament to help with those printing PPE, so I wanted to give them some thanks and add them to the box this month. The 2 green colors, either the Bay Green or the Neon Green included make nice Easter Grass greens!

Toner Plastics

Mellow Yellow - PLA

Extrusion Temp: 190C to 230 C
Bed Temp: 60C to 70 C
Printing Speed: 50 to 90+ mm/s

I really liked the color of this Yellow as it was a nice soft Eastery color. It also has a hint of translucency to it that is pretty neat when printed.

Fiberlogy from Wolfworks3D

Turquoise - Fibersilk PLA

Extrusion Temp: 210C to 230C
Bed Temp: 50 to 70C
Print Speed: 35 to 60 mm/s

This filament is kind of magical lol. When I first saw the pictures of it I thought it was a beautiful teal color, and on top of that it's super shiny!

When I got the rolls in and saw the filament, as you may, it was really dull and I messaged Chance at Wolfworks3D asking... isn't this supposed to be shiny? His response... print it! lol. So I did, and wow this is super cool! It's the first silk type filament that I've seen that isn't already silky on the spool.

Bonus Accessory!

Solar Powered Turntable

I've had one of these since I started resin printing, since the UV curing light would make it turn as it cured. Additionally, I think it would be useful for those who want to show off their 3D prints while rotating 360 degrees. Works with UV/Light/Sunlight or an optional battery.
